The 12th of June marks a pivotal moment in the history of the Philippines โ the day we gained our independence and took our first steps toward freedom. For Filipinos around the world, this day serves as a reminder of our rich history, our shared struggles, and the resilient spirit that unites us all.
Here in Gothenburg, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the 127th Philippine Independence Day with an exciting and vibrant event that brings together Filipino families, children, and the local Swedish community. The day will be filled with cultural performances, traditional food, and activities that will highlight the beauty of Filipino culture, history, and traditions.
The goal of this event is to strengthen the sense of identity and belonging among Filipino children and youth living in Sweden, while also fostering cultural exchange with the broader Swedish society. Through this celebration, we hope to promote understanding and appreciation for the diversity of Filipino heritage and showcase our unique contributions to the world.

Free Registration for Pop-Up Stalls
This event is open to all Filipinos, as well as non-Filipinos interested in learning about our vibrant culture. Registration for pop-up stalls is free. We encourage you to bring your own tables, chairs, and sunshades to ensure a smooth and comfortable setup.
By participating in this exciting event, youโll be contributing to an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere that unites people from all backgrounds in appreciation of Filipino culture. Itโs an amazing opportunity to showcase your business, share your talents, and most importantly, to give back to the community.

We aim that the stage will come alive with the sounds and movements of Filipino culture. We encourage groups to perform traditional Filipino dances, such as the Tinikling or Pandango sa Ilaw, as well as showcase modern Filipino dance and music. If youโre an artist or performer, this is the perfect chance to bring Filipino traditions to life for the local community.

๐ฉโ๐ณ Food Stall Registration and Requirements:
- Registration is required to avoid duplicate food offerings and to ensure a diverse selection.
- Submit your name, booth name, contact number, and food/products you will sell.
- Contact Erlyn to register your food stall.
๐น Setup Guidelines:
- Setting up a stall is free, but vendors must bring their own tables, chairs, sunshades, and tents (if available).
- Arrive at least an hour before the event starts to set up properly.
- Keep your stall clean and hygienic at all times.

- To avoid repetition, we encourage vendors to sell different Filipino specialties.
- Cash payments are also allowed, but digital payments are encouraged.

- Ensure all food is properly prepared, stored, and served hygienically.

- Each vendor is responsible for cleaning their stall area.

Palarong Pinoy (Traditional Games)

- Participants of Palarong Pinoy can register on the day of the event.
- Contact Airoll to sign up for games or volunteer as a game facilitator.
- Non-Filipinos are encouraged to join and learn about traditional Filipino games!
Community Engagement & Networking
